Lasseter Rover Crew Honoured with BP Lodge Crew Service Award

Lasseter Rover Crew Honoured with BP Lodge Crew Service Award

The annual BP Lodge Founders Night Celebration this year celebrated the outstanding service provided to the community by Lasseter Rover Crew from Ringwood.

Since 1996, the Baden Powell Masonic Lodge has presented to the Crew which submits the most Crew Hours of service the very prestigious Crew Service Award at a night attended by many Scouters, Masons and Masonic Scouters.

This year was no exception, with the Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Victoria, Rob Jones joining Chief Commissioner Bob Taylor and Master of the Baden-Powell Lodge, Adrian Kramer in presenting Lasseter Rover Crew with the 2012 Crew Service Award.

Some of the activities that Lasseter included in their application was their annual Lasseter's Weekend activity camp for the Maroondah District Scouts, movie tent at VG and the stunt at Hoadley Hide, as well as joint nights and activities benefiting the general public.

After the formal proceedings, the evening moved to the wonderfully decorated Banquet Hall "in the South" for a great meal and extended fellowship with the other guests. For many of us, it was the first time that we were able to see a Masonic Lodge in action, and we learnt a lot about Freemasonry. Many people are already looking forward to next year and wondering which Crew will be honoured.
