The RSM championship series was created for a little friendly competition between rover crews. The series requires at least 3 events to run and to be eligible to compete in the RSM championship you need to be a rover team and have completed a yearly pre-scrutiny.
This year’s calendar has been outlined for you below;
Winter Challenge
Winter Challenge is the first event of the championship round. Peninsular motorsport have been running the event since about 2010. It's held at Mafeking Rover Park on the last weekend of August. It will include two days of motor sport competition (Khanacross) for Rovers and their crews. Winter Challenge provides great times and social event for all spectators and competitors alike, including night time entertainment on Saturday night, including a Live Band! Between 6 and 20 tests across six unique tracks (three tracks, forward & reverse), for each driver in your team. Typically, we usually get in at least 16 drives per driver. This equates to at least 30 to 40 minutes of driving per driver! The actual number of tests depends on how quickly we can run through each test which is dependent on breakdowns & the weather. Winter Challenge is a relaxed and fun atmosphere; they even provide live timing of results displayed in the HQ HALL.

Dirt N Dust
Dirt and Dust is planned to s being run for the first time this year at Bacchus Marsh Rally School. It is to be the second event of the championship series. The different venue gives a little bit of variety of racing on already existing tracks. The committee is excited to show you all the hard work and planning that has taken place. The weekend is looking to be an exciting weekend no matter what the Melbourne weather provides for us. Prepare to get dusty and dirty and maybe even a little muddy. The committee envision this event to be used as an up and coming training event for younger rovers who are keen to learn more about running race events. If this is something that interests you get in contact with the dirt n dust committee.

Borderbash
Borderbash is run by Mallee Rover Crew in Mildura on Tapio Station. The event is generally the 3rd event of the championship and is held over the March Labour Day weekend. This event was originally created as a tri-state event, where racers from New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia could come together and compete for the title of the best state.

Mudbash
Mudbash is our longest run racing event in Victoria, and began back in 1972 at Big River. The event is held on the Queen’s Birthday Weekend in June at Mafeking Rover Park. Vehicles competing in Mudbash are built, repaired, raced in and owed by Rover Crews state and nationwide. Each crew fundraises annually in order to upkeep their ‘buggies’. Vehicles range from modified sedans and hatchbacks, to rear engine frame buggies. Every car is different; has its own name, number, and some would say its own personality.
Night time entertainment is a big draw at Mudbash. After night time car events have finished, attendees head to the stage area and continue partying to bands and DJ’s till the early hours of the morning. The Mudbash Open Day remains an extremely prominent feature on the Victorian Scout Calendar. Activities and events improve year to year, and the event as a whole is a valuable recruiting tool for the section. Mudbash is organised and managed by a committee of around 25 Rovers, elected into their position at the annual AGM. Any 18-25 year old member of the Rover Section can be nominated for a position on the committee. Although there is a lot of work involved in getting an event likes Mudbash up and running, it is one of the most rewarding experiences a Rovering career can offer.
